Vintage 2000 | Augusto's
Vintage 2000 | Augusto's 75cl
Purplish in colour, recalling paint. Powerful and intense aromas of black fruit and cherry with charming notes of an aromatic fragrance. To the mouth, this wine proves in perfect harmony, with a striking balance in the fruit and tannins. Rich, elegant and delicious flavours of black fruit. Enormous concentration and once again displaying this attractive perfumed quality. Long and intense aftertaste.

|Grape Harvest||Dry winter with 40% less rainfall than the average. Warm February and March followed by rain in April and May. Some rain from June to August. Slow to mature: harvesting delayed by two weeks. Temperatures in September up to around 40º.|

|Winemaking||Fresh grapes and at their ideal ripeness are picked by hand into 20 kg boxes. Following the removal of the stalk and smooth crushing, the grapes were placed in a stainless steel cube for 5 days of pellicular maceration, fermenting for five days, with three daily delestage processes before continuing to macerate following fortification for a further three days. This resulted in an excellent wine extract. Then aged in old French balseiros (vats). Blending was done in March 2003.|
